Empty Barrels

I know, it's taken me a long time to make a new clip. I've been running all over with my new camera and I've reached footage overload, so it was time to sit down and do some editing. Here it is.... a little film made just for the love of EMPTY BARRELS.

Southern Loving

South winds. They are a rarity here in the winter and a welcome break from the trades. The past few days have seen the South looking like an angry rain soaked creature, but the North has blessed us with beautiful swell and strong offshores. The other day I surfed for 8 hours practically alone. By the time I paddled in I had such bad noodle arms, I almost couldn’t make it to the beach. Yesterday I opted for my camera instead.

It's bigger than it looks.

Full Moon Missions

Island Perfection.

I'm salty, tired and sunburnt. A cold shower never felt so good. My girlfriend is visiting from Oahu and we've just returned from a crazy 3 day full moon camping mission, involving midnight kayaking to waterfalls, bonfire shenanigans and some of the most perfectly roping beach breaks I have ever witnessed.I could write pages on our adventures, but in this case a picture speaks a thousand words.

Welcome to island life.

We made it about a mile before breaking down.
Who rides in the back of your truck?
Full moon rising
The morning after. What YOU looking at?
Empty barrel anyone?

Because everybody needs a pet goat.

Quiet Times

Island life is hard work, as you can clearly see.

Today I surfed the West side. Fun waves, beautiful conditions but sorry folks, no pics. After a few hours in the surf and a post surfing taco I went to visit my friend. A trail behind her house leads to the most perfect swimming hole with two beautiful little water falls.

It was super quiet and peaceful.... until these guys arrived.

Invasion.
Just another day on the island :)

Filtrate Sponsor Love

Filtrate Sunglasses shoot. Picture courtesy of Dave Gregerson.

I'm sitting outside Starbucks poaching their free internet. It's pretty windy out here, I always think of Hawaii as being warm but it's actually a lot colder here now than back home in Australia. It sure feels good to be back on the islands though. It's the little things I've missed, like the abundance of amazing fresh fish, the palm trees and of course the waves.

I've come to Starbucks for a coffee and to write a quick little post welcoming my latest product sponsor, Filtrate Eyewear. I usually have a bad run with sunnies. I always end up either sitting on them or leaving them somewhere, so I was super stoked when Filtrate hooked me up with a nice supply of their lovely polarised sunglasses, and I've been doing a really good job of not losing any of em! Check out all of their styles at
www.filtrateeyewear.com/ and also at www.actionsportseyewear.com.au

Here are some pics using Filtrate Sunglasses from a recent shoot I did in Hawaii with my photographer Dave Gregerson. I really love these sunglasses, especially the red ones in the picture above!
